1 FARNOL, Jeffery ("Editor") ... "set down by Ed. BRANDONLEIGH, Gent." ... dust jacket by H. M. BROCK MURDER BY NAIL being an episode in the career of Jasper Shrig of Bow Street, with particulars of his highly original methods in THE WRYBROOK CASE ... FINE, Rare, selling in London.
Published by Sampson Low, Marston & Co., London, believed 1942, not First Edition but an early one.
Hard cover, 8vo, red cloth in illustrated dust jacket. Undated but an ad for the BBC's wartime service on the dj's back flap places it 1942-5. FINE CONDITION and apparently unread, in FINE price-intact dust jacket which has just a couple of tiny nicks in the edges but has had no real wear at all. The front cover has a black monogram JF, bottom right corner, and is surrounded by a double black border. The back cover is plain. Considering the scarcity of this title, particularly by its original publisher, this example is in extraordinary condition and can probably never be repeated. The jacket illustration is by H.M. Brock, and shows a grave-side exhumation scene with two Bow Street Runners examining a skull. Packed weight 500g.
