2 LAND & WATER (contributors: Hilaire BELLOC, John BUCHAN, etc.) LAND & WATER Weekly Magazine ... 3 BOUND VOLUMES 1916 1917-1918 and 1919.
Published by Land & Water, London, 1916, 1917, 1918 and 1919.
Three extremely large bound volumes of this rare and interesting magazine intended for country gentlemen. These volumes cover a large part of the First World War. The articles and the prolific period advertisements are equally fascinating. The binding was done for the Forbes Library, Northampton, Massachusetts, who were the original owners, and all three volumes are in extremely good condition. The three volumes contain these issues: (1) April 6th to September 28th 1916 with Supplements (containing property and other advertisements) for the same period bound in at the back; (2) October 4th 1917 to March 28th 1918; (3) April 3rd to September 25th 1919. Presumably there are 78 issues altogether. Even single copies of this periodical are hard to find, and usually make 20-30 each, so this is quite a rare opportunity. Total packed weight 13 Kg.
