17 IPC Magazines Ltd. BUSTER BOOK 1980 ... scarce comic annual with interesting BUS PRESERVATION story, selling in London.
Published by IPC Magazines Ltd., London, 1979.
Hard cover, quarto annual with pictorial paper boards. ISBN 0850373948. Condition: boards generally VG with slightly bumped corners; spine missing; front hinge cracked; back board almost detached; text block FINE. We considered this worth listing for two reasons: (1) there were no other examples offered on the internet at the time of listing; (2) one of the stories is an 8-page cartoon in the Yorky Grit series and involves a vintage bus and a rally of the "Vintage Transport Society", containing many beautifully drawn preserved buses, and a traction engine whose owner looks remarkably like Fred Dibnah (although they probably all do). One of the frames is a whole-page job which is well worth framing. Packed weight 800g.

20 ROUTLEDGE, Edmund, F.R.G.S. (Editor) EVERY BOY'S ANNUAL ... c.1880, selling in London.
Published by George Routledge & Sons, London, undated, c.1880.
Hard cover, burgundy cloth, ornately decorated in gilt, green and black, quarto, 668pp. It's hard to understand why publishers issue books called Annuals and don't bother to tell you the year, but this is one of those. As a reference I'll tell you that the first item is "Star-Hole, a Smuggler's Retreat", by W. W. Fenn. Condition: covers worn but acceptable; the design it still quite pleasant to look at. The inner hinges are cracked but holding, and there are no torn, loose or, as far as we can tell, missing pages or illustrations. There is no frontispiece but this issue may not have had one. Contains, in serialized form throught the book, an article about Australia by Jules Verne. Packed weight 600g.
Price: 48.50 GBP
